418 refugees relocated themselves to Dzaleka camp with a day shy from the deadline

Authorities say 418 refugees and asylum seekers have relocated to Dzaleka refugee’s camp.

This comes as the Ministry of Homeland Security issued notice on 27th March 2023 ordering all refugees and asylum seekers living in rural and urban areas to relocate to Dzaleka Refugee Camp by 15th April 2023.

Ken Zikhale Ng’oma Minister of Homeland Security has confirmed that about 418 people have already relocated to Dzaleka a day shy from the deadline.

Ng’oma has since expressed optimism that other refugees and asylum seekers will relocate before using enforcement by the Police and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services.
