UNHCR and WFP Reaffirm Support for Refugees in Dzaleka

UNHCR has reaffirmed its commitment to the community, making it clear that its work isn’t ending any time soon.

During a recent visit, UNHCR Country Representative Modeste Kouame addressed concerns about the agency’s future, confirming that operations will continue beyond the expiry of their current agreement in October. “We are here to stay,” he told residents, dismissing rumours of a withdrawal.

Also speaking at the gathering, WFP Deputy Country Representative Simon Denhere announced that food distributions will continue through October, thanks to newly secured funding. He added that WFP is working closely with other partners to bring in more support in the coming months.
