Eustache Kaisala: From Refugee to Leader in Dzaleka

Eustache M. Kaisala, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, has spent 14 years in Dzaleka Camp, becoming a key community leader. Starting as a teacher, he rose to head teacher and coordinator, supporting education, food distribution, and vulnerable groups. He also serves as a minister, providing spiritual guidance to refugees.

Despite challenges like limited access to higher education and restricted movement, Eustache remains dedicated to helping his community and credits Dzaleka for shaping who he is today.

He appreciates the support from organizations such as the Refugee Outreach Collective, Emmanuel Foundation, UNHCR, and WFP, which help sustain the camp.
