Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH), with support from AA (Germany Funds, GFFO), has today awarded four zones which have excelled in maintaining hygiene and sanitation in Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
Presiding over the ceremony, Dzaleka Camp Manager Gerald Chiganda commended the four zones for the efforts put in place to maintain good hygiene and sanitation. He encouraged other zones to do well, saying that, looking at the congestion in the camp, there is a need to promote hygiene.
He also hailed WHH and the volunteers for their continued efforts to ensure that Dzaleka remains clean.
Speaking to Yetu FM, Dzaleka Health Center Senior Disease Control Assistant, Manson Mchinkhuzi, emphasised the need for collaborative efforts in promoting hygiene in the camp to avoid diseases.
According to Yetu FM, the zones recognised include:
- New Katudza – 1st Place
- Karonga – 2nd Place
- Kawale 2 – 3rd Place
- Lisungwe – 4th Place
The winners received hygiene-related items such as soap, basins, buckets, and jerricans as part of their prize.
