Gerald Chiganda, the Dzaleka Camp Manager, has urged camp residents to take full advantage of the opportunities available within the camp to improve their livelihoods.
Chiganda made the call today at Salama Africa during the graduation ceremony of 22 students who completed courses in photography, videography, and music production.
Alvin Dula, the Photography and Videography Facilitator at Salama Africa, emphasized the importance of the graduates being proactive to attract more customers in their respective creative fields. He also encouraged more youths in the camp to register for the upcoming intakes to gain valuable skills.
"I am encouraging the youths from Dzaleka to register for the coming new intake so that they also acquire skills in videography and photography," said Dula.
Graduate Nelly Kininga expressed excitement over gaining new expertise in videography and photography, skills she plans to use to open her own photo studio and support herself financially.
Yetu FM reports that Salama Africa offers these six-month courses free of charge to residents of Dzaleka Camp, providing vital opportunities for personal and professional growth.
