Dzaleka Future FC Secures Crucial Support to Join Regional League

Dzaleka Future FC has expressed gratitude to Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH) for providing financial assistance that has opened new doors for the team and its players.

The club recently received €4,500 (approximately K9 million), a grant that has enabled them to purchase boots, jerseys, and cover registration fees for the Central Region District Football League.

Club founder Romain Bijangala described the support as transformative, noting that it not only equips the players but also strengthens their opportunity to compete in mainstream football. “This funding gives our players a chance to showcase their talent while advancing the government’s inclusion project,” Bijangala said.

WHH communications officer Isaac Msiska explained that the funding was secured after the club submitted a formal request. A German school partnered with WHH to channel resources toward tournaments, kits, and other essential activities.

The gesture has also drawn praise from the Department of Refugees, with official Amos Mkandawire highlighting the broader significance of solidarity. “While we remain committed to supporting refugees, we acknowledge that not every team can be funded. That is why we deeply appreciate the contribution of partners like WHH,” Mkandawire remarked.

For the players of Dzaleka Future FC, the support represents more than financial aid—it is a symbol of recognition and inclusion. As the team prepares to compete in the regional league, their journey underscores how sport can serve as a bridge between communities, fostering dignity, resilience, and hope.
