The Family Health Promotion team has called for stronger cooperation among Refugee‑Led Organizations to help address ongoing hygiene challenges at Dzaleka, especially as Malawi continues to face a cholera outbreak.
The call was made during a cleaning exercise held inside the UNHCR premises, an activity aimed at keeping the camp environment clean and reducing the spread of disease.
The team emphasized the importance of regular hygiene practices at community level, noting that many international organizations are scaling down their activities due to global funding shortages.
According to Yetu FM, Family Health Promotion is working alongside the Government of Malawi and Welthungerhilfe to support hygiene initiatives both inside the camp and in surrounding communities.
