Fountain of Hope has intensified its efforts to support residents of Dzaleka and surrounding communities through the implementation of its food security project.
Program Manager Jack Morisho made the remarks on Thursday at the organisation’s premises during an ongoing distribution of food items to parents whose children are enrolled at the institution. He told Yetu FM that the school currently has over 800 learners across primary and secondary sections, with each parent receiving 5 kilograms of beans and 5 kilograms of rice.
Morisho said the initiative forms part of the organisation’s broader mandate to assist parents and guardians of learners, regardless of their level of vulnerability.
One of the beneficiaries, Evarson Mankwanzi from Kakowa Village under Traditional Authority Msakambewa, encouraged fellow parents to continue supporting their children’s education despite economic challenges.
Echoing the sentiment, Jolie Kayombo, a Congolese national, expressed gratitude for the support, noting that many learners in Dzaleka face food shortages, a situation that contributes to absenteeism and school dropouts.
