FHP Donates Soap and Essential Items to Vulnerable Elderly Residents in Dzaleka

Family Health Promotion (FHP) has donated non-food items, including soap, to vulnerable elderly residents in Dzaleka.

The donation was made on Tuesday and targeted elderly residents identified as among the most vulnerable groups in the community.

Speaking to Yetu FM, Family Health Promotion Project Coordinator Matumwabiri Basinzi Placide said the initiative is aimed at supporting refugees, especially at a time when limited funding continues to affect vulnerable households.

Placide said many elderly residents are struggling to access basic necessities and highlighted the organisation’s continued commitment to supporting community well-being through humanitarian assistance.

One of the beneficiaries, Jeannette Nyandwi, a Rwandan national, welcomed the support, saying it came at a critical time for many vulnerable people in the camp.

She said elderly residents continue to face challenges due to limited financial assistance and difficulty accessing essential items.

Dzaleka hosts thousands of refugees and asylum seekers from across the region, with humanitarian organisations continuing to support basic services and community welfare.
