Malawi-based filmmaker and documentary photographer Blessings Sukali is documenting the lives of young artists at Dzaleka Refugee Camp, focusing on creativity, youth culture, and resilience.
Sukali uses both cinematic and documentary approaches to capture everyday stories, with a focus on amplifying local voices and sharing narratives from within the community.
In his recent work, he highlights the daily lives of young artists in Dzaleka, where many say creativity has become a way of coping, expressing themselves, and finding hope in difficult circumstances.
The project forms part of SUR, an initiative by @vistprojects that connects storytelling from the Global South. Sukali is also a fellow of @newfcommunity.
The work is being shared through @sibu.dir, where audiences can view more of the project and related stories.
