Salama Africa and Artolution have completed what organisers describe as the first community mural in Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
The mural was created through Artolution’s Training of Trainers programme at Salama Africa, with support from HOME Storytellers.
According to Salama Africa Executive Director Prince Lokendo, the artwork was shaped by discussions with members of the community and reflects themes of hope, protection, unity and solidarity.
Trainers and programme participants worked together on the mural, using art to represent experiences and ideas shared by people living in Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
Lokendo thanked Artolution, HOME Storytellers, the trainers, participants and community members who contributed to the project.
The initiative formed part of efforts to support creative expression and community storytelling in Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
