There Is Hope Malawi Announces Office Closure Amid Financial Challenges

There Is Hope (TIH) Malawi has announced significant operational changes as the organisation navigates ongoing financial difficulties that have affected its ability to sustain its full programme of work.

In a statement released this week, TIH said it will close its Lilongwe office effective 30 June 2026 and relocate all operations to the Lilambwe Centre in Dowa, near Dzaleka.

The organisation described the move as a necessary step to streamline operations, maximise efficiency, and preserve resources while maintaining a presence in the communities it serves.

TIH acknowledged that it is facing a critical period and stated that if its financial position does not improve significantly by 30 June, it will begin moving toward an organisational transition.

"We must be transparent: if our financial position does not improve significantly by 30th June, we will begin moving toward an organisational transition," the statement said.

Despite the challenges, TIH emphasised that it remains committed to the communities it serves and to managing its responsibilities with integrity.

The organisation is appealing for bridge funding, strategic partnerships, and collaborative opportunities that could help sustain its work and prevent the planned transition.

"We are not giving up," TIH said, adding that support at this critical moment could make "the difference between transition and transformation."

For nearly two decades, There Is Hope Malawi has worked alongside vulnerable communities across Malawi, including refugee and host communities around Dzaleka

The organisation concluded its statement by thanking partners, donors, supporters, and community members who have contributed to its mission over the years and expressed hope that new partnerships may help secure its future.
