Dzaleka Livelihoods Project Showcased at NGO Day in Lilongwe

Plan International Malawi showcased activities under the Dzaleka Livelihoods Project during NGO Day held recently at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.

The organisation presented organic farming and value addition initiatives being carried out by young people at Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

The project supports young people to develop livelihood opportunities through agriculture and the processing of agricultural products.

Plan International Malawi said the activities demonstrate how young people at Dzaleka are using farming and small-scale production to build income-generating opportunities.

During the event, Plan International Malawi also received the Best Partnerships Award from the Council for Non-Governmental Organisations in Malawi (CONGOMA).

The organisation said the recognition reflected the role of partnerships in delivering programmes involving children, young people and communities across Malawi.

Plan International Malawi also credited its partners, community members and young people involved in its programmes for contributing to the award.

NGO Day brings together civil society organisations and other stakeholders to showcase programmes, partnerships and development initiatives being implemented across Malawi.
